Unprecedented, a word in vogue today for sure. The emerging situation with the COVID-19 coronavirus and the many news reports around us are creating anxiety and worry for the future and our well-being. In times like these, it is especially important to remember God’s promise to be with us. He who made us, and gave his own Son for the salvation of the world, will not leave his children in this time of need.
Let this be an opportunity to pray; an opportunity to minister to those around us. Let's create opportunity to remind souls that what should be feared is not a virus but if they should arrive at God's judgment seat - where will they be headed?
And amongst us - are there some who already have the virus? No, not coronavirus perhaps - but a spiritual lethargy that has "crept in unawares." As Bro. Ward often reminds us, how is your devotional life?
We know that God is in control of all things, and that God often uses events like epidemics for his own purposes—and that they can even be a blessing to his people and a wake up call to those outside his fold.
